Franco Grimoldi Calo
About Me
Franco Grimoldi Calo is an Argentine American composer currently working in Los Angeles. He has developed a melodically driven style after over 10 years of composing, writing most often for orchestral ensembles.
After graduating with honors from the Berklee College of Music in 2024, he moved to Los Angeles to work as a scoring intern for Bear McCreary’s Emmy-winning studio, Sparks & Shadows for over a year. During this time, he has continued to collaborate with award-winning animators and directors on short films as well as upcoming indie productions. In addition to film, his work on video games include roles ranging from composer to audio director.
His musical journey began when he first took piano lessons as a kid, skipping the classically trained route due to his insistence on playing his favorite themes from movies, musicals, and video games. Classical music eventually caught up to his studies, however by that time the influence of scores from The Legend of Zelda series, Final Fantasy, The Lord of The Rings, How to Train Your Dragon, and The Lion King had gone far too deep into his head. He is also a violist, which he has played at the Lincoln Center, Jordan Hall, and under the baton of Alan Silvestri in 2022.
Above all else, Franco strives to provide memorable and personally crafted music for every collaboration. If you would like to reach out to him for your project, feel free to send him a message in the contact form or contact him through social media.
